10,000 Angels Singing in a Collapsing Balloon is an evolving absurdist theatrical concert exploring the act of creating art amid personal and societal instability.
The performance first appeared at Mooncalf in Manhattan on November 9th, 2025.
The piece unfolds as a stream-of-consciousness multimedia collage featuring a live band, silhouetted dancers, a hidden projectionist, and a team of stagehands racing in real time to adjust lights and props, struggling to keep pace with the performance.
Bossa nova melts into noise collage as a cast of singers and actors navigates love, confusion, and creative breakdown. At its core, the work asks: how do we attempt to make something beautiful while the world—and the artist—is falling apart?
